Morning Class 9:00-11:30 AM
Ages 4 and 5
Each day starts with circle time when the theme of the day is presented. Children then have an opportunity for child directed activities such as painting, block play, dramatic play, water/sand table play, manipulatives and puzzles. Areas of study such as nutrition, letters, numbers, colors, shapes, marine life, and Native Americans are introduced to the children through stories, art, drama, music and actual experiences. This is a developmentally appropriate class for pre-kindergarten. As the children progress through the year, assessments and progress reports are shared in conferences with parents. Teacher child ratio is a maximum of 1:8.

Pre-School Classes
Tuesday - Thursday
Morning class 9:00-11:30 AM
Ages 3 and 4
This class is focused primarily on socialization within a group setting and learning to feel secure and comfortable in this first educational setting. Circle time is followed by an extended time of child directed play at easels, water/sand table, block play, dramatic play, gross motor and fine motor play. This class is created to specifically meet the needs of three and early four-year-olds. Areas of curriculum focus in this class are Mother Goose, colors, shapes, animals and seasons. Teacher child maximum ratio is 1:7.
Lunch Bunch
Lunch bunch is an extended care option for children enrolled in Monday - Wednesday - Friday pre-school and kindergarten. Children have an activity, story and lunch from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. This is offered to a maximum of 15 children on a first come basis. |
Kindergarten Classes

8:45-11:45 AM
Ages 5 and 6
Covenant Kindergarten is half-day program with enrollment limited to 15 children. The goal of Covenant Kindergarten is to provide a loving, nurturing environment in which children will be prepared academically and socially for first grade. Reading curriculum is presented with an emphasis on phonics and beginning reading skills. Children experience the mathematics curriculum through the use of manipulatives and activities. Science and social studies are also incorporated as well as actual experiences in growing plants and embryology. Our curriculum has hands on experiences and is developmentally appropriate.
